Duck Hunting: Nov. 18 – 26, 2023 and Dec. 9, 2023 – Jan. 31, 2024…
As Part Of Your South Georgia Quail Hunting Trip
A morning duck hunt is the perfect addition to your Georgia quail hunting trip at Pine Hill Plantation. Test your skills at shooting ringneck ducks, teal & wood ducks as they come screaming into the ponds located on our private bird hunting land at speeds of over 70 miles per hour. In colder weather you will see the occasional mallard or canvas back duck. Experience the dawn of a new day while duck hunting over one of our many private ponds – then retreat to the lodge for a relaxing breakfast. After you have spent the morning in the duck blind, it’s off to the pine forest for a day of South Georgia’s best quail hunting.
All ducks are wild. A typical hunt will last about 45 minutes following shooting light and will consist of pass shooting as ducks are circling to land. Harvests vary with natural conditions and shooting skill.
Duck hunting requires different licensing from the quail hunting license that is included in your package. Guests desiring to duck hunt must acquire the appropriate licenses on-line prior to arrival and should bring the following minimum gear:

- Georgia Annual Waterfowl Conservation License (purchased on line – $5)
- Georgia HIP (Hunter Information Program) Permit – (acquired on line – $0)
- Federal Duck Stamp – (purchased at US Post Office or on line – $20)
- Waders
- Shotgun with appropriate chokes
- Steel shot shotgun shells
When you make your quail hunting reservations, ask us about adding an early morning duck hunt for one or more of the mornings during your quail hunting trip to Pine Hill Plantation.
