We hope that you are well and having a great summer!

We have been working hard to make sure that Pine Hill Plantation is at its best for your next quail hunting trip with us. Fred, Hilton and Todd have done the burning, planted food plots and are regularly working at predator control to ensure great habitat for the upcoming season. We have even been fortunate enough to get some regular rains so that our food plots are coming up nicely. The quail can be heard regularly calling in the woods - and a female quail with her chicks following in a row closely behind is becoming a common scene.

The Pine Hill family is doing well - and for that we are thankful.

• Jane, Sharlene and Marcelene enjoyed a Caribbean cruise together in May (Sharlene's first airline flight and cruise).
• Fred, Todd and Steven just returned with a big catch of fish from an off-shore fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico.
• Hilton and his grandson "Duck" have caught an untold number of shellcrackers and large mouth bass out of the lakes at the lodge.
• Jackie and Doug celebrated the marriage of their oldest daughter, Amber, in February.
• Fred celebrated his 60th birthday and we threw a big party at Pine Hill Plantation over the Memorial Day weekend. Fred had almost 100 friends and family, there was a bluegrass band one night and Banks & Shane was the band on Sunday night - there was even a CD of Fred's 20 all-time favorite songs. A great time was had by all - we are thankful for all that Fred means to the Pine Hill family and were glad to have the opportunity to celebrate this special event.
• Steven will be off to college this fall to get his Forestry Management degree - but will still be working during the quail hunting season.
• Doug retired from his business sale to Caterpillar and will become more active in the management of sales & marketing for Pine Hill Plantation.
• We hosted our first wedding on the property in early June.

We were excited that CNBC TV chose to do an TV article on Pine Hill Plantation about "the business behind high-end bird hunting." Mike Hegedus, the CNBC TV host, called Orvis to ask where they should go to film the article - and Orvis told them that Pine Hill Plantation is their highest-end quail hunting facility. The segment aired on CNBC TV's Power Lunch show in February and you can see it at http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=637443579 (click "Play", then allow a brief advertisement to run). The article has generated a lot of interest.
